Is Broadband Internet service the same as High Speed Internet service?

Broadband and High Speed are interchangeable terms used to refer to the speed of the Internet connection you are using.

How does your Broadband Internet service work?

Our Broadband Internet service connects your computer to the Internet using a radio that directly links your home or business with our broadcast tower. Our Broadband Internet technology is similar to cell phone technology, whereby the signal is transmitted directly from our tower to your location without requiring phone lines, cable or satellite.

Why should I get Broadband service?

Broadband Internet allows you to receive more information quickly and do more on the Internet by providing you with:

What are my system requirements?

Generally you need a computer system with these elements:
Pentium 133 MHz processor with Windows 98 or higher, at least 64 MB of RAM and 200 MB of free disk space


Do I need a modem to use your Broadband Internet service?

No, a modem is not required. You will need a radio, which we provide and maintain.

What is your set up fee?

This is a one-time charge to set up and activate our Broadband Internet service in your home. Setup fees start at $99.00.

What is the contract length?

This is the commitment you must make to receive the indicated price and promotions. The minimum commitment is one year.

What's the difference between uploading and downloading?

Information passes between your computer and the Internet in two directions: uploading and downloading. Information that is uploaded is sent from your computer to the Internet, such as sending emails or playing two-way games. Information that is downloaded is sent from the Internet to your computer, such as surfing the Web or downloading files to your computer.

How many email accounts can I have?

We provide up to ten email accounts.

What does static IP address mean?

A static Internet Protocol address is a unique number assigned to your computer by your service provider. Static IPs are permanent numbers that always identify your computer to others on the Internet. Applications that may require a static IP address include certain online games, working from home and accessing computers at work, and accessing your home computer while away from home.

What does dynamic IP address mean?

A dynamic Internet Protocol address is a temporary number assigned to your computer by your service provider. This number or "address" allows others on the Internet to communicate with your computer. A dynamic IP is typically assigned for a certain length of time after which the address is returned to a pool of IP addresses. The next time you log on or begin a new session, a new dynamic IP will be assigned.
